I love how such a ridiculous hypothetical situation that can never and will never happen is being compared to a common procedure that tens of millions of women around the world have, whether it’s legal, illegal, safe, or unsafe. Whether or not their lives and the lives of their families depend on it. To the OP, all I have to say is fuck you. Seriously. Fuck. You. Unwanted pregnancy is a serious issue to everyone who faces it. Listen to the stories of the people who seek the procedure and are hell-bent of getting an abortion, rather than making up some convoluted bullshit that nobody will ever experience to rationalize your misogynistic views.

Sigh.  Another case of someone jumping to conclusions.  I, the OP, am VERY pro-choice.  I made this post with the intent of showing that, even under these circumstances, it should be FULLY within the rights of the person in this situation to pull the tubes.  Perhaps my more exact analogy would be more to your liking?

What would be more to my liking would be for cis guys to stop turning a discussion of abortion rights into a philosophical discussion of hypotheticals. I don’t have to jump to the conclusion of your male privilege denial.

Well, fortunately, I don’t have to respect your opinion on how I should go about supporting your rights.  And I also don’t have to respect your jumping to the conclusion that I’m cis.  Or that I deny white male privilege.

You denied your male privilege twice in the past five minutes. Maybe you should consider the opinions of the people your pro-choice views affect, if you’re going to consider yourself a pro-choice advocate. Just some advice that you’d be wise to take.

I totally agree. Guys, chill out! This is a great example why the pro-choice, feminist, liberal, agnostic, skeptic, and atheist community, and free thinkers in general, are having trouble passing legislations and getting things done. Why are we constantly at each other’s throats for stupid little details? White male privilege? Really?

The bottom line here is that we are all PRO-CHOICE. I may not agree with analogy that the OP made, my reasons for being pro-choice may be different than yours, my gender, race, age, and color of skin may be different than yours, so what? And then we’re asking ourselves why the pro-life, conservative community is on the rise; well, because they are organized and have each other’s back, while we, as Dawkins puts it, are like a bunch of individualist, ego-centric cats that cannot be herded (no offense to cats).
